Shuttles:
A free shuttle bus to the Interislander terminal leaves from platform 9, Wellington Railway Station, 35 minutes before ship departure times (NOT ALL SERVICES, PLEASE SEE BELOW).
If you are disembarking at the Wellington Interislander terminal, you will find a free shuttle bus waiting outside the Arrival lounge to take passengers to the Wellington Railway Station.
The above mentioned Free Shuttle service is not available to connect with the following sailings
18:05 departure from Picton - arrives in Wellington 21:15
22:25 departure from Picton - arrives in Wellington 01:35
Those requiring transportation will need to advise the Wellington Terminal Duty Manager who will call a taxi at the passenger's expense. The shuttle will still operate as normal for daytime sailings.
Eateries:
A cafe/shop operates between 7.00am and 5.30pm daily.
Rental Cars:
Apex, Avis, Budget and Hertz rental car offices are located in the Arrivals terminal. These offices are staffed for arriving ferries only.
Getting there:
The Wellington Interislander terminal is located between the central city and State Highway One, and just 5 minutes from the heart of the city:
Travellers driving from the central city should follow Waterloo / Aotea Quay until the sign for "Interislander terminal". Turn right into the terminal before the on-ramp to State Highway One.
Travellers driving south from State Highway One should turn off at Ngauranga Gorge and take Hutt Road. Follow the road signs for the "Picton ferry" / "Interislander terminal".
Parking:
Short-term parking is available outside the terminal (free up to 30 minutes). Longer-term parking is available at a cost of $10 per vehicle per day. There are several ways to pay for this service: (1) feed the pay and display meter, (2) enquire at the terminal check-in counter or (3) drive up to the parking booth. The parking booth is open for all passenger sailing departures and arrivals. Please note the longer-term parking service cannot be booked in advance.

Coin/Card phone, toilets/mobility impaired toilets, internet kiosk, accommodation information board and arcade games.
