Picton is a small, interesting seaport at the head of the Queen Charlotte Sound. It provides a disembarking point for passengers on the Interislander ferries from Wellington, and a starting point for adventures in the Marlborough Sounds. On display near the ferry terminal is the Edwin Fox, believed to be the ninth oldest ship in the world.
