Fiordland National Park stretches along the lower west coast of the South Island. The fiords, carved during the ice age, snake their way through towering mountains which rise almost vertically out of the water. Milford Sound is a great place to try your hand at sea kayaking as there is an abundance of wild life in the fiord including dolphins.
